A man has been further remanded in custody accused of an arson incident in Mid Kerry.
Dariusz Siwiec of 12 Cois Gallain, Killorglin appeared before Judge David Waters at Tralee District Court.
The 54-year-old faces two charges in relation to an incident in Killorglin in April.
It’s alleged that at approximately 9.15PM on April 30th that Dariusz Siwiec carried out an act of arson at a property in Cois Gallain, Killorglin.
It’s also alleged that the accused secured the gate into the property with cable ties, prior to the fire starting.
The court previously heard that there were five occupants in the house at the time, including children aged five and seven.
Mr Siwiec appeared before Judge David Waters at Tralee District Court via video link from Cork Prison.
Through a polish interpreter he confirmed that he could see and hear the court.
Sergeant Chris Manton told the judge that DPP directions are not yet available.
Solicitor Padraig O’Connell outlined that there was no application for bail for his client.
Judge Waters noted that he previously refused jurisdiction due to the nature of the charges, meaning the case will be heard in the Circuit Court.
The Judge remanded Mr Siwiec in continuing custody to appear before Tralee District Court on May 20th, via video link for formal DPP directions.
