Jamey Carney has been remembered at her funeral as someone who was a ray of sunshine in people's lives.
Offertory gifts brought to the altar of Jamey Carney's funeral mass in Killarney included photos of her daughter and dog, a cowboy hat, passports, and a sunflower.
Ms Carney was murdered at her home in Ross Road, Killarney last week.
Chief celebrant, Fr. Kieran O'Brien told mourners at St Mary's Cathedral that the 43-year-old had a deep love of her teenage daughter Michaela, her mother Kathleen, sister Devon, her relatives and friends.
He also spoke of the American's love of country music, travel, nature and her dog, Penny.
Dr Crokes under-14s and St Brendan's Rowing Club performed a guard of honour as Ms Carney's coffin left the cathedral.
Fr Kieran O'Brien said Jamey Carney regarded her decision to move from New York to Killarney five years ago, as her best decision.
He added that she had found a place to call home, and that she had brought sunshine to the lives of her loved ones.
Fr O'Brien stated that he wouldn't dwell on Jamie's death but rather on her her life:
