Frustration builds as delays plague Cahersiveen infrastructure projects

There's frustration that refurbishment work has not yet begun on Cahersiveen Community Centre in the Carnegie Community Building.

The works had been due to get underway in the second quarter of last year (2025), with the Carnegie Community Building closed since November 2024.

Chair of Cahersiveen Community Resource Centre, Alan Landers, says the refurbishment may now not be completed until the middle or end of next year: 2027.

Kerry County Council has been contacted for comment.

Mr Landers understands the holdup is due to a delay in government funding being released:
