Former President Michael D. Higgins says war has become 'normalised' and warned 'lethal equipment' represents danger rather than security.
He made the comments at the Irish National Teachers' Organisation annual conference in Killarney today, following the agreement of a two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran.
Mr Higgins did not mention the US, Israel or Iran in his speech, however he did knowledge a ‘brief respite’ for the world.
