Former county councillor and Mayor of Kerry Jim Finucane has been appointed Honorary Counsel of Ukraine to Ireland.
The primary role of Honorary Counsel is to ensure the protection of Ukranian nationals and their interests.
The role recognises the work carried out by Mr Finucane in aiding the integration of Ukranians into Kerry society since 2022.

His work has ensured that Ukranian citizens are represented across all sectors of society including housing, education and recreation.
