Fine Gael councillor understands frustrations of those advocating drastic solutions to housing crisis

A Fine Gael Kerry County Councillor says he understands the frustrations of those advocating drastic solutions to the housing crisis.

Cllr Tommy Griffin was elected for the first time nearly a year ago, to represent the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District.

He says he is exasperated by the slow progress on fixing the housing problem in Ireland.

He was reacting to a proposal by a Mayo County Council official to boycott holiday home owners, but Cllr Griffin stressed this is not the way to go.

Cllr Griffin says creative solutions are needed like setting up temporary waste water connections or linking to other networks in the locality:
