A crime scene has been declared by Gardaí investigating the disappearance and homicide of Michael Gaine.
Gardaí were contacted by a member of a public yesterday evening, who had come across findings that prompted An Garda Siochana to recommence their search for the missing Kenmare man
Gardaí have been on site at Mr Gaines farm in Carrig East just outside Kenmare since the early hours of this morning.
A number of garda vehicles are present and gardaí were seen moving between the farmyard and two nearby fields where a slurry was spread yesterday.
The Garda Technical Bureau and the Office of the State Pathologist have been requested to attend the scene.
Pending examinations by both the Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist, An Garda Síochána is not in a position to provide further information at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
