The Equality Minister has rejected opposition claims that the Government has been reckless in its response to the fuel crisis.
Last night, the Dáil voted to cut excise duty on a litre of diesel by 20 cent, and petrol by 15 cent until the end of May.
Minister for Equality and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD Norma Foley has defended the State’s response saying it was measured.
She says the Government wasn’t slow in its response, as other European countries have also only announced packages to tackle rising fuel prices this week.
Minister Norma Foley says Sinn Féin’s proposals are reactionary and not well thought out.
