A rare and endangered whale has been spotted off the Kerry coast.
Guests and crew onboard Dingle Sea Safari and Dingle Boat Tours were treated to the rare sight of a lone male orca travelling through the waters of Dingle Bay.
This is the third year that the killer whale, known as "Aquarius", has been spotted off the Kerry coast.
Aquarius is part of the West Coast Community of killer whales, a critically endangered group that once numbered around 20 individuals in the 1970s, but has since faced serious decline.
Aquarius is best known for his close companionship with another iconic bull, ‘John Coe’. The pair have travelled together for decades and are rarely seen apart. However, this recent sighting marks a notable and emotional moment, as Aquarius was seen alone, with no sightings of other pod members — most significantly, no sign of John Coe.

Earlier last week a humpback whale was spotted in Dingle bay by both Dingle Boat Tours and Dingle Sea Safari.
