Eight farmers in Kerry were reported for "inappropriate" slurry spreading last year.

That’s according to figures provided by Agriculture Minister Martin Heydon.

69 incidents were reported nationally in 2025, with farmers in Kerry accounting for the second highest number of inappropriate slurry preading cases nationwide, behind Cavan on 10.

Minister Heydon says all farmers were notified of non-compliance of regulations, and financial sanctions were imposed in 68 of the cases.

The figures were provided in response to a Parliamentary question by Fianna Fáil TD for Cork North West, Aindrias Moynihan.
