Over €70,000 has been granted for nine organisations in Kerry, under the COVID-19 Stability Fund.   This funding is being allocated to community

Over €70,000 has been granted for nine organisations in Kerry, under the COVID-19 Stability Fund.

 

This funding is being allocated to community and voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises that are experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nearly €71,300 worth of funding has become available under the third tranche of the government's COVID-19 Stability Fund, with nine organisations in Kerry set to benefit.

Ballybunion Youth Café will receive €2,400, Banna Rescue will get nearly €7,000, Meals on Wheels Tralee will benefit to the tune of €3,500, while Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland will get €7,200.

 

Camp Community Council is to receive €9,700, Causeway Community Action Group is to get €2,195, Rahoonane Community Centre Limited will receive €3,000, while €2,000 has been allocated to Lauragh Community Centre.

The largest amount in Kerry has been allocated to Comharchumann Forbartha an Leith Triuigh Teoranta, which'll get €34,270.

Minister for Education and Kerry TD Norma Foley has welcomed the grant allocations, saying it'll provide critical services to those most vulnerable in society.

 

Government Deputy Chief Whip Brendan Griffin says the funding will help address short-term cash flow issues due to the COVID-19 crisis.
