The Kerry Garda Division recorded a drop in murder and homicide crimes in a year.
That’s according to the CSO’s crime data for the first quarter of 2026.
It shows between January and March, no incidents of murder, manslaughter, and homicide (and related charges) were recorded in the county.
That’s a drop on the same period last year, when one arrest was made for murder, two homicide offences were recorded, while manslaughter incidents was unchanged.
There was a 14% rise in attempts/threats to murder/assault in a year, at 192; up from 168.
Meanwhile, 14 threats to kill or cause serious harm were recorded in Kerry; down from 18 in the first quarter of 2025, an over 22% drop.
