‘Do-Not-Swim’ notice for Rossbeigh beach extended by one week

The ‘Do-Not-Swim’ notice for Rossbeigh beach has been extended by  a week until Monday, 3 August (2026).

Kerry County Council says it made the decision due to an ongoing marine algal bloom in the sea near the beach.

A spokesperson for the council says it has conducted additional water quality sampling and is currently evaluating the results In partnership with the Marine Institute.

They state the situation is being kept under review and further updates will be issued as test results become available.

Signage is in place to advise beach goers of the notice.
