For the first time, West Kerry will be served by a formally-recognised family resource centre.
Dingle’s Áiseanna na hÓige childcare and family support centre has been formally admitted into the national family resource centre programme, as announced by Minister and Kerry TD Norma Foley at the Dingle centre.
Minister Foley said Áiseanna na hÓige have been providing the services and supports of an FRC at its Ard na Gréine facility without the title for many years.
Manager of the centre, Fiona Nic Gearailt, says the designation ensures the continuation and expansion of services, with an increase in guaranteed annual funding.
The announcement has been welcomed by Kerry TDs Michael Cahill and Danny Healy-Rae, Senator Mike Kennelly, and Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae.
