The Department of Transport will issue a request for quotes from airlines to operate the Kerry-Dublin service in the coming days, in accordance with rules on public service obligation air routes.
The contract will be for a maximum term of seven months.
The department will also launch a procurement process for a maximum of 4 years for the continued operation of the service, which will apply after the temporary contract has expired.
