The spokesperson for the Department of Migration said they are working to ensure residents will be able to return to their accommodation in Killarney as soon as possible.

Residents have been temporarily moved to IPAS centres elsewhere in the country while essential maintenance is carried out.

The statement continued that IPAS and centre management regret the inconvenience to residents, but argued that IPAS must respond quickly when any issues arise that impact the health and wellbeing of residents.
