Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership has announced the launch of the 'Cycling Without Age' initiative in Dingle and Castleisland.
The initiative is a volunteer-led movement that provides free, slow-paced trishaw bike rides to older adults and those with limited mobility.
West Kerry Community Hospital, Dingle and Castleisland Daycare Centre will each receive an electric-assisted Triobike.
The bikes are designed for comfort and accessibility, and can carry two passengers alongside the pilot; they'll serve scheduled, pre-determined routes.
Community Sports Development Officer Maeve Ryan said that the programme will keep people active, foster connections and reduce social isolation.
Kerry Sports and Recreation Partnership are looking for volunteer pilots for the service and will provide specialised training.
