Kerry county councillors have approved the sale of the former O’Sullivan’s Bar in Fenit for over a  quarter of a million euro.

The long-derelict building and adjacent lands were bought by Kerry County Council in 2018 to re-align the main road into the village as part of a masterplan for the area.

A new road was constructed through the former field behind the pub, which itself was no longer needed by the council and was put on the market through McQuinn Property Services.

At the recent monthly meeting, Kerry County Council sought approval from the elected members to dispose of the 0.23-acre site to Conor Deasy for €255,000.

The disposal of the land was approved, and the sale will now go through conveyancing.
