Councillor slams further delays in publication of lookback review into North Kerry CAMHS

The HSE says its still awaiting the finidings of a draft lookback review into North Kerry Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

That’s according to correspondence received by elected Kerry councillors, in response to a letter urging the reports immediate publication.

The completion of the lookback review of files at the North Kerry CAMHS had been due to be completed in March last year.

Cathaoirleach of Listowel Municipal District, Cllr Jimmy Moloney believes that issues have been found in up to 50% of the 300 files under review.

He says it’s coming up on three years since the review was commissioned, but the HSE is advising it has two further steps to take.

Cllr Moloney has branded the delays as unacceptable and says young people and their families are waiting too long:
