The council has been urged to carry out a summer traffic count along a busy Mid Kerry road.
Fine Gael councillor Tommy Griffin made the plea at the recent Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD meeting.
He asked the local authority to undertake a traffic count along the R561 from Castlemaine to Inch during the peak summer season.
The council indicated that traffic along this route is between 5,000 and 10,000 vehicles on average daily.
It stated such counts are done to assist road projects, however, should one be required for a specific reason it can be carried out.
The motion was seconded by Fianna Fáil councillor, Fionnán Fitzgerald.
