Kerry County Council’s Road Safety Officer says he was surprised that the local authority had no involvement with the Rally of the Lakes this year.
Declan Keogh was speaking during a presentation to members at the recent Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD.
He stated his department is working on events and initiatives to promote safe road use, including the recent safer roads conference in Killarney.

Mr Keogh said it’s important the council brings this message to all age groups, which would include the Rally of the Lakes.
He stated that it’s vital the council engages with the event as it brings a huge number of car enthusiasts to the county.
