A Kerry consultant in emergency medicine says wearing a seat-belt can be the difference between walking away from a collision unharmed, or dying.

Dr Martin Boyd is a consultant in emergency medicine at University Hospital Kerry.

He says we often only hear about the fatalities, but people can also suffer life-long horrific injuries in crashes.

Dr Boyd says it’s frustrating to see motorists taking chances and not being safe on our roads, when he sees first-hand the devastation such actions can cause:
