It’s expected that construction on phase 2 of the Bonane road will begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
Independent councillor Dan McCarthy sought a start date for the works at the recent Kenmare Municipal District meeting.
In response, Kerry County Council says the detailed design and contract documents are being finalised; these will be advertised this month.

The council says subject to Transport Infrastructure Ireland approval, it’s expected that construction will begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
6km of pavement improvement was approved by TII last year.
