There are concerns that Irish extradition law may pose difficulties for the investigation into the murder of a woman in Killarney.

Jamey Carney was found dead at her home on Muckross Road on Tuesday afternoon.

The investigation was updated to a murder inquiry yesterday evening, with Gardaí appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are engaging with its international law enforcement partners including Interpol as part of the investigation.

An Garda Síochána is attempting to find the man who is 'of interest' to the case.

Southern correspondent with The Irish Times, Barry Roche says individuals cannot be extradited for questioning.
