The US company, which wants to build the Shannon LNG terminal in North Kerry, plans to construct data centres on land it has in Ireland.
A subsidiary of New Fortress Energy was set up last year to build and operate data centres.
In a statement from New Fortress Energy, Klondike Digital Infrastructure is described as dedicated to working with hyperscale clients to build and operate data centres.
Hyperscale data centres are defined as massive facilities to allow for vast data processing and storage needs.
Klondike says it has more than 1,000 acres of suitable land across sites in Brazil, Ireland, and the US.
In a press release last July, New Fortress Energy said these locations have large existing power plants or permits in process to build several gigawatts of power, connectivity to fibre networks and access to transmission and water.
Last week, Shannon LNG received planning permission to build a power plant to generate 600 megawatts on the Tarbert/Ballylongford landbank where it hopes to construct a liquefied natural gas terminal.
On Monday, An Bórd Pleanála withdrew its appeal to a High Court decision which quashed the decision to refuse planning permission to build the LNG terminal.
Today, groups opposed to the project will hold a public meeting and press conference at Buswells Hotel, opposite the Dáil.
