Childminding Ireland is calling for an urgent independent review of the new childminding system.
The new regulations brought in last year will see all childminders in the country registered with Tusla by 2027 and they will only be allowed to look after six children at a time.
No more than two of these children can be under 15 months and this will only be permitted in the child minders home.
The organisation held a meeting in Killorglin last night with their members to discuss their concerns on the new rules.
Chief executive of Childminding Ireland Bernadette Orbinski Burke says there’s a real risk the child minding sector will collapse.
