Case taken by Tralee man's widow settled in High Court

A personal injury case taken by the widow of a Tralee man who was killed after being struck by a taxi has been settled in the High Court.

Consultant psychiatrist Martin Lawlor died following the collision near Cork Airport on December 15th, 2018.

He had been walking home from a Christmas party.

His wife, Helen Murphy Lawlor, took the case against the taxi driver who received a prison sentence for the hit-and-run.

The driver, Denis McSweeney of Pouladuff Road, Cork city, died last year.

The Irish Examiner reports that the High Court ordered the agreed settlement and made an order for the plaintiff’s costs with damages to be agreed.
