Canadian whose message in a bottle reached Kerry after 13 years eager to promote link between two regions

A Canadian says he and his wife are amazed how a message they put in a bottle 13 years ago found its way to Kerry across the Atlantic.

Brad Squires said he and his then partner, now wife, Anita threw the bottle from a cliff on Bell Island, Newfoundland.

They assumed the bottle had smashed against the cliff rocks and didn't think it would make it to the ocean.

This week, almost 13 years later and over 3,000 kilometres away, the bottle was found in Scraggane Bay, Maharees.
