Uisce Éireann is being called on to give a definite timeline for repair works to a water pipe in Tralee that has burst three times and flooded homes.
Last year, this pipe burst twice and three homes in Shanakill were flooded.
It burst again last week, the third time within a year; each time this occurs up to 10,000 homes and businesses are without water.
Sinn Féin councillor Paul Daly sought an update on the planned works at the monthly meeting of Kerry County Council yesterday.
He called on the council to write to Uisce Éireann to get an update on the timeline for the works, and he was critical of the lack of communication from the national utility.
