A Listowel Municipal District (MD) councillor says signage is urgently needed at the Moyvane - Knockanure junction near Ahavoher Graveyard in North Kerry.
Councillor Liam ‘Speedy’ Nolan told the recent MD meeting that he has witnessed drivers coming from Athea, who are unfamiliar with the junction, stopping directly in the middle of the road.
He warned that there will be a serious accident at the junction, as luck is the only thing which has prevented one until now.
This was seconded by councillor Aoife Kennelly, who said she had recently traveled through the junction with a driver who had stopped his car because he was so confused by it.
Management told the councillors that road markings and signage will be refreshed in accordance with the requirements of the Traffic Signs Manual.
