A man facing a string of assault and criminal damage charges at a Tralee IPAS Centre has been remanded on bail.
Yacine Kouidmi, previously with an address at Atlas House, McCowans Lane, Tralee appeared in person before Judge Monika Leech at Tralee District Court.
The 33-year-old faces six charges arising from an incident at the IPAS centre in which he resided.
It’s alleged that in the early hours of July 30th at Atlas House IPAS Centre Tralee, Yacine Kouidmi, assaulted a security guard, causing him harm.
He’s also accused of assaulting two other men at the same address, on the same date.
The 33-year-old is charged with causing around €1,000 worth of damage to Atlas House IPAS centre, allegedly damaging a balcony window and a cupboard shelf.
Mr Kouidmi also allegedly resisted and wilfully obstructed a garda who was carrying out their duties as peace officer at the scene.
At Tralee District Court, Sergeant Chris Manton told Judge Monika Leech that instructions from the DPP are still awaited.
The accused’s solicitor, Padraig O’Connell told the court that an address at Henry Street, Kilrush, County Clare has been provided for his client and the state is satisfied with this.
Judge Leech granted Mr Kouidmi bail subject to several conditions.
These include that he sign on twice a week at Kilrush Garda Station; that he does not attend or come within 5KM of Atlas House; that he abide by a curfew; and have no contact direct or indirect with the alleged injured parties.
Mr O’Connell advised that his client consented and had signed the bail bond.
Judge Leech remanded Mr Kouidmi on bail of his own bond of €200, to appear before Tralee District Court tomorrow, September 3rd, for DPP directions.
