Average cost of buying a home in Kerry jumped by over 12% in a year

The cost of buying a home in Kerry increased by over 12% in the year to June.

That’s according to the CSO’s Residential Property Price Index.

It shows the average price of purchasing a house in the county at the end of June was €275,000; up from €245,000 on the same period last year.

Homes in the Listowel (V31) area saw the biggest rise in price, up 17.5% (to €235,000).

While houses in the Eircode areas of Tralee (V91, +13%), Killarney (V93, +5%) and Cahersiveen (V23, +3%) all recorded increases.

Nationally, the median cost of buying a home rose by 7.8% to €370,000.
