The cost of buying a home in Kerry increased by over 10% in the year to May.
That’s according to the CSO’s Residential Property Price Index.
It shows the average price of purchasing a home in the county at the end of May was €270,000; up from €245,000 on the same period last year.
The report shows that house prices increased across the entire county in the twelve months to May this year.
Homes in the Listowel – V31 eircode – experienced the highest jump in the period at 21.5%, to €240,000.
There was an 11.5% increase in the price of a dwelling in the Tralee – V92 area – to €251,000, up from €225,000 in May last year.
Homes in the Killarney – V93 eircode region – remain the most expensive in Kerry, costing on average €300,000; up 1.7% on May 2024.
The V23 – Cahersiveen Eircode – saw the median cost of a house increase by over 2% to €266,500.
The report shows there was a 8.5% rise in house prices in the P51 area - includes Rathmore, Gneeveguilla and Ballydesmond.
Meanwhile, over the county bounds, the V94 eircode - which includes Abbeyfeale, Mountcollins and Foynes – saw a jump of over 17% in the average cost of a home.
