Ardfert Post Office to remain open for several weeks

The current postmistress in Ardfert Post Office has agreed to remain in her position for some more weeks.

Last year, the Ardfert Community Council took over the running of the post office on a temporary basis.

However, this arrangement was due to come to an end on December 15th.

Last week, 100 people attended a public meeting in the village in a bid to save the post office from closure.

According to Kerry TD, Sinn Fein's Pa Daly, An Post are still attempting to obtain a new contractor and a larger grant has been allocated for someone to take it over.
