An American man has been sent forward to Tralee Circuit Criminal Court in relation to dangerous driving causing serious harm.
66-year-old David Castle appeared before Judge David Waters in relation to one charge.
It’s alleged that on May 22nd last, at Doonore North, Camp, David Castle drove in a manner, which was dangerous to the public, wherby it caused bodily harm to another person.
Mr Castle appeared before Tralee District Court recently via video link from his home in the United States.
He spoke to confirm he could see and hear the court.
His solicitor Brendan Ahern told Judge David Waters that his client was joining the court at 5.45am from North Carolina, to which Mr Castle replied “the birthplace of golf”.
Judge Waters advised that the book of evidence has been served in relation to the case and sent him forward to the next sitting of Tralee Circuit Court for trial or a signed plea.
Mr Castle was provided with an alibi notice – whereby if he plans to provide alibi evidence at trial, 14 days notice must be given to the state.
He was remanded on continuing bail, on his own bond of €5,000, which his solicitor advised had already been lodged.
