64 Kerry residents will become Irish citizens at special ceremonies in Killarney this week.
Applicants from 139 countries and living across 32 counties will be conferred during the five ceremonies, which got underway today.
Over 4,600 people will take an oath of fidelity to the Irish state and receive their citizenship at the Gleneagle Arena over the next two days.
The nationalities with most applicants were India (1,116), Brazil (465), Romania (460) and the UK (414).
Meanwhile, Dublin (2,378), Cork (484) and Kildare (394) were the counties where the highest number of applications were made.
Since 2011, 230,000 people (including children) from over 180 countries have received Irish citizenship at citizenship ceremonies.
