There were 60 cases of flu recorded in Kerry in the first week of December, according to new figures.
The data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre shows this means there was a rate of 38.3 cases per 100,000 population in the first week of the month.
Kerry’s rate of influenza cases was lower than most counties at the beginning of December.
The rate of flu in Kerry is expected to increase when the data from the last two weeks is published, with warnings that there’s been a significant increase in the number of children attending UHK with flu.
The flu vaccine is still available, and there will be walk-in clinics at Killarney SouthDoc on Monday 22nd December from 11am to 3pm, and at the vaccination clinic in Monavalley Tralee on Monday 29th December from 10am to 2pm.
