The number of private cars registered in Kerry in 2025 increased by 6% compared to the previous year.
That’s according to the CSO’s licensed vehicles report for 2025.
The figures show over 3,800 (3,837) cars were licensed for the first time in the county last year, up from more than 3,600 (3,622) in 2024.
67% of the cars registered in Kerry last year were new private cars, while over 1,200 were second hand cars (1,234).
Nationally, there was a 36% jump in the number of new private electric cars licensed compared with 2024.
