50 members of the Irish Defence Forces will join the search for missing Kenmare man Mike Gaine.
56-year-old Michael ‘Mike’ Gaine was last seen on Thursday 20th March at around 10am, and searches began the following day.
Significant searches of lands in the wider Kenmare area have been taking place over the last 12 days, while the Garda Diver Unit also searched a nearby quarry and lake.
Gardaí have also been reviewing CCTV footage and conducted checkpoints in its efforts to gather information.
The Defence Forces has now confirmed it received a request for assistance from An Garda Síochána to aid in the search in Kenmare.
It says 50 personnel from one Brigade will be deployed in an Aid to the Civil Power operation, to assist in the search.
