There has been a 5% drop in weapons crimes in Kerry in the year to June.
That’s according to data from the Central Statistics Office for the second quarter of 2025.
The CSO’s recorded crime incidents report shows there was a drop of almost 28% in offensive weapons offences in Kerry between April and June.
13 incidents were recorded down from 18 on the same period in 2024.
Incidents of possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm increased, with two of each recorded in the second quarter of this year, up from zero.
Weapons and explosives offensives dropped slightly, from 18 in Q2 2024, to 17 at the end of June.
No incidents of explosives – chemical weapons offences were recorded in the period, which is unchanged on the year before.
