Overall crime in Kerry rose slightly in the year to June.
That’s according to data from the Central Statistics Office for the second quarter of 2025.
It shows across 71 crime categories, 27 saw a rise, 25 show declines, while 19 offense categories remain unchanged.
According to the data 2,530 incidents were reported to the Kerry Garda Division between April and June this year.
That’s represents a rise of 2.5% when compared with the second quarter of 2024, when 2,468 incidents were logged.
Drink driving arrests rose by a quarter over the period, from 63 to 79 at the end of Q2 2025.
There was a 4% increase in property crime – which includes burglary and theft offences – up from 652 incidents to 680.
185 crimes against the person offences were recorded between April and June in Kerry, up 5% on last year.
There was a 12.5% rise in public order incidents with 315 recorded, up from 280 in the second quarter of 2024.
The report shows 192 drug arrests were made, up from 170, an increase of just under 13%.
Criminal damage, which includes incidents of arson, fell by 19% in the period with 87 offences, down from 108.
Meanwhile, Fraud figures remain incomplete, as Gardaí continue clearing a backlog of cases reported by financial institutions.
