WTA enters into commercial partnership with CVC Capital Partners

The Women's Tennis Association has entered into a commercial partnership with CVC Capital Partners, which will invest 140-million-euro into the tour.

In return, the private equity firm will take a 20-percent stake in a new company called WTA Ventures.

CVC has already invested in other sporting entities - like the Six Nations and Spain's La Liga.

It'll manage all of the WTA's commercial interests, rather than the sport itself.
