He took charge of 831 games over the course of his career - the last one being Spain's 1-0 win over Portugal in the World Cup
In 2020, he became the first referee in over a century to referee the FA Cup final twice
Taylor announced that "Officiating at the elite level has been an immense privilege, but the pressure is intense and the scrutiny is constant... The time is now right to step aside and look forward to transitioning to the next chapter of my career"
