John Madden has decided not to seek a renewal of his term in charge of the Kerry camogie side.
Neither have his management team of Aidan Boyle and Jerry Wallace.
During Madden's time in charge Kerry reached the 2025 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship final, and 2026 semi-final.
Also this year they won Division 2A of the National League.
Madden said "It wasn’t an easy decision, but our 3 families are still quite young and it’s hard to miss out on things going on with them".

Kerry Camogie wishes to acknowledge and sincerely thank John Madden, Aidan Boyle, and Jerry Wallace, who have decided not to seek a renewal of their term as the Kerry Intermediate Camogie management team.
While we are sorry to see John, Aidan, and Jerry leave, we are immensely grateful for the dedication, professionalism, and commitment they brought to the role. Their leadership, passion, and belief in this group of players have helped drive Kerry Camogie to unprecedented success and have left a lasting legacy.
During Johns tenure as manager, this Kerry Intermediate team continued to make history. In 2025, they reached the county’s first-ever All-Ireland Intermediate Championship Semi-Final before progressing to a historic All-Ireland Intermediate Final, where they produced a tremendous performance and were narrowly defeated by Offaly.
Returning this season with their sights firmly set on success, the management team ensured the squad was exceptionally well prepared. Their hard work and meticulous planning were rewarded with the National League title in the April, before another outstanding Championship campaign saw Kerry once again reach the All-Ireland Intermediate Semi-Final.
Although the journey ended at the semi-final stage this year after a tough loss to Laois last Saturday in Tullamore, the players and management can be immensely proud of what they have achieved together. They have represented Kerry with distinction, commitment, and determination, inspiring the next generation of camogie players throughout the county.
The commitment required of an inter-county management team is immense. Countless hours are devoted to training, planning, travelling, and supporting players, often behind the scenes. John, Aidan, and Jerry embraced every challenge with professionalism and enthusiasm, and Kerry Camogie is deeply appreciative of everything they have given over the past two seasons.

On behalf of Kerry Camogie, I would like to sincerely thank them for their dedication, commitment, and professionalism. They have played a significant role in the continued growth and success of our Intermediate team and have helped create memories that will remain in Kerry Camogie history.
On a personal note, I would like to thank John for his unwavering commitment and support throughout this journey. His leadership, honesty, and work ethic made my role as Chairperson much easier, and I am truly grateful for everything he has done for Kerry Camogie.
I wish John, Aidan, and Jerry every success in their future endeavours, and I have no doubt they will continue to make a positive contribution wherever their camogie journey takes them.”
When John was was approached to get involved with the Kerry camogie intermediate team, it was an easy yes from him.
“ After being involved with Clanmaurice I knew how committed those club girls were and having watched the other club teams in the county and the skill and dedication they had, this commitment was evident in the full Kerry squad aswell.
This team have achieved so much and I’m immensely proud of every one of them and just delighted to have been a part of it.
Getting back up to Division one this year was just rewards for the group.
The back room was team was second to none, their support and drive for the pursuit of success doesn’t go unnoticed, to Elaine Murphy, Ger McCarthy, John Barry, Marnie Horan, Erin Sheehan and to Ger Murphy and his team, thanks for everything”
Pete, Aidan and Jerry were just so easy to work with, in Aidan and Jerry, they are two of the best coaches to work with and they always drove the group on to push to the next level, to Pete this man has seen so much over the years with Kerry Camogie and his knowledge and reading of the game is second to none.
It wasn’t an easy decision, but our 3 families are still quite young and it’s hard to miss out on things going on with them.
The players sacrifice so much for Kerry camogie and are fantastic role models for young girls in Kerry.
I hope they realise how much they have brought on juvenile camogie in the county with their achievements so far and I wish them all the very best going forward.
