Killarney Legion 1-22 Glenbeigh-Glencar 1-10 Andrew Moynihan reports
Laune Rangers 0-12 Kilcummin 0-12
The power of the 2 point free was shown to its full value as Kilcummin departed JP O Sullivan Park with a share of the spoils as the home side hit a brace of 2 point frees late on to level proceedings at the death.
In a game that was level on no fewer than five occasions in the opening half where neither side dominated proceedings up until the final minutes with Cian Lynch and Cian Foley adding unanswered points to leave Kilcummin ahead 0-7 to 0-5 at the break with no fewer than 5 different scorers for James Foley’s side. Stephen Gannon led the homesides resistance with 0-3.
Scores proved difficult to muster into the second half, both sides swapping a brace of points each in the third quarter to keep two points between the sides by the 43rd minute.
Cian Foley had pushed Kilcummin into a 3-point lead early in the second half but Laune Rangers, through Shane Daly and Darragh Clifford, kept the home side in touch before another Clifford point got them back to within just one point by the 46th minute.
Then, a purple patch for Kilcummin with Sean Doolan, Paul O’Shea and Sean O Leary hitting 3 unanswered points as Kilcummin put the good bit of daylight between the sides as they stretched out to a 0-12 to 0-8 lead with less than 5 minutes remaining.
Despite it being a four point gap, it was cut in half when Darragh Clifford hit a 2 point free for Laune Rangers to set up a nervy finish and it was Clifford that was the saviour right on the death when he repeated the trick to end the day with a personal tally of seven points.
For the away side it was a cruel learning who played some good football coming down the final stretch, but James Foley’s side have their first point on the board and leave Killorglin knowing that their performance will stand in good stead for the challenges ahead.

Kenmare Shamrocks 1-21 Gneeveguilla 0-17
Kenmare Shamrocks secured their second consecutive win. The final scoreline, however, does not fully reflect the contest, as the visitors were in control for much of the game before Kenmare's late surge sealed the win.
The game started in fast fashion, with Gneeveguilla applying a high-tempo style that Kenmare found difficult to counter in the opening stages. After 10 minutes, the Shamrocks found themselves trailing 0-4 to 0-1, but a crucial moment came soon after when Stephen O'Brien delivered a perfect handpass to David Hallissey, who found the net with a cool finish past the advancing goalkeeper. This goal lifted Kenmare and, from then on until halftime, both teams exchanged points, with fine scores from Eoghan McCarthy, Darren Allman, and David Hallissey. For the away side, Dara Fitzgerald and Padraig Doyle were particularly impressive.
At the break, the scoreboard read Kenmare Shamrocks 1-6, Gneeveguilla 0-11.
Kenmare made a change at the start of the second half, bringing on Donal O'Sullivan, who wasted no time getting on the scoresheet. Despite this, the Shamrocks continued to struggle around midfield, and Gneeveguilla continued to make the most of their possession, stretching their lead to four points by the 16th minute. However, from this point onwards, the tide began to turn in Kenmare's favor.
The Shamrocks started to gain control of the game and adopted a more direct approach. Paul O'Connor, also introduced as a substitute, made an immediate impact, while Donal O'Sullivan added four more points to his tally, including a crucial two-pointer. Jack O'Sullivan, Eoghan McCarthy, and Kevin O'Sullivan all contributed to the scoring surge that saw Kenmare move into the lead.
As Gneeveguilla began to run out of steam, Kenmare finished strong, sealing a comprehensive seven-point victory.

Currow 2-12 Ballyduff 1-7
An air of sadness prevailed before this fixture as the Currow GAA community learned of the untimely passing of Adrian Scanlon, brother of Currow GAA legend Seamus.
A minutes silence was held before the game for Adrian and was observed immaculately by both sets of players, officials & supporters.
Ballyduff had the advantage of a slight breeze in the first half but it was Currow rookie Ruairi Brosnan who struck first with a well taken point in the 1st minute.
The North Kerry side hit back emphatically two minutes later with a goal from no. 15 after a surging run through the middle of the Currow backline. This was to be Ballyduff’s zenith, as Currow went on to hit 1-06 before their opponent’s reply in the 20th minute. The pick of the black & amber’s scores in this period was a 2 pointer from Cathal Brosnan, struck with violence from the outside of his left boot. ’20 MINS: CURROW 1-07 : BALLYDUFF 1-02 The home side were really finding their groove now & will rue some goal chances missed where perhaps the better option would have been an easy point. Their dominance continued unabated however and they picked off another 1-02 before the end of the half, including 1-01 from Luke Fitzgerald.
HT: 2-09 to 1-03.
Ballyduff were first to the punch in the second period with a point from a free from no. 14 in the first minute. Currow’s talisman Cathal Brosnan replied a minute later with a smartly taken score from the 21 yard line.
The games quality suffered after this early burst of action as Ballyduff laboured to get ball into their full forward line while Currow were content to sit in. The side in green & white looked to be mounting a mini comeback after 2 scored frees in the 43rd & 45th minute but it was not to be. A Cathal Brosnan point in the 50th minute effectively brought the hammer down on any Ballyduff resurgence and Currow were comfortable winners in the end.
