Shamrock Rovers have opened up a 10-point lead at the summit of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

Rory Gaffney scored both goals as the Hoops won 2-nil against their title rivals Derry City at Tallaght Stadium.

Mason Melia ended his six game scoring drought in St Pat's 2-nil victory at Waterford.

Conor Carty scored the second goal to seal the win for Stephen Kenny's team at the RSC.

St Patrick's Athletic, Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne will all have an interest in the draw for the Europa League and Conference League play-off round later today.

Shels are in qualifying for the Europa League - but will drop to the Conference League if they lose to Rijeka in their third round tie.

The draw takes place this afternoon in Nyon.
