Qualifying for Worlds the prize for Irish men's and women's relay teams this afternoon

Qualifying for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo is the prize on offer for the Irish men's and women's relay teams this afternoon.

Both squads go in the repecheges of their respective 4 x 400 metre relay events in China later.

Sharlene Mawdsley and Rhasidat Adeleke are expected to run in the women's heats when they take to the track at 12:34pm.

The men then go in their round two race just before 1pm.

The mixed relay team have already qualified and they return to the track for the relay final just after 2pm.
