Kerry have lost to Tyrone in the semi-final of the Dalata Hotel Group All-Ireland U20 Football Championship.
The last four tie in Laois Hire O'Moore Park saw them go down 2-14 to 0-14.
Tyrone had the opening two points, before Daniel Kirby put over a first Kerry point in the 9th minute. Tyrone led by 5 points to 2 after 16 minutes, then goaled in the 18th minute to double their advantage. Eddie Healy and Paddy Lane pointed, Lane twice, to close the gap to 3 by the 22 minute mark. Kerry were on the ascendancy and score from Killian Dennehy and Paddy Lane narrowed the gap to 1; 1-5 to 0-7 with 6 minutes left in the half. A Tyrone 2 pointer cancelled out those 2 Kerry scores. With the score at 1-8 to 8 points in the final minute of the half a second Tyrone goal doubled that advantage. Kerry went right up the other end but had 3 successive shots cleared off the line. At half time it was Kerry 0-9 Tyrone 2-8.
A low scoring start to the second half ensued, with each side putting over just once heading towards the 40 minute mark. After Tyrone pointed again Kerry's Ben Murphy worked his way into a goal scoring position but fired his effort wide. Tyrone were more clinical and led 2-10 to 0-11 at the 3/4 stage. A lovely worked Kerry move put Ben Murphy through on goals once more but his effort was saved, the move finally resulting in a Kerry point. The gap was 4 with 5 minutes to go at Kerry 0-14 Tyrone 2-12. Kerry lost by 6.
