Scotts Lakers St Pauls Killarney host Limerick Celtics at 7.30 in Division 1. Enda Walshe reports
Also in Division 1 Killarney Cougars are home to Waterford Vikings from 7.15. The Presentation Gym hosts the meeting of Cougars and Vikings with both chasing a first win of the season. The sides met in early 2022 with the Cougars coming out on top on that occasion. An understrength Cougars went down heavily on the road to a strong Limerick Celtics.
The Cougars recent injury list has unfortunately been further added to, with Alex Fleming, Andraz Rakovec and Darragh Hayes all out of action for the next month. American Cameron Scales is also unavailable due to a close family bereavement. The Cougars will have the experienced Darren Townes back in the starting lineup and new signing Esebio Strigdhatig pushing for a starting postion with Andrew Fitzgerald also close to a return. Waterford have added two significant signings since the teams last meeting. Centre Freeman Brou and forward Gytis Vasiliauskas both will add more scoring potential for the Vikings as the season progresses. The experienced coaches Micheal Evans and Dean Kavanagh are both keen to claim their first win of the campaign and with a more settled team they are expected to make it a difficult night for the home side.
