Saga Gaga became the third juvenile winner for trainer Michael O’Callaghan in nine days when scoring at Gowran on Friday evening.
In the fillies’ maiden over an extended nine furlongs and making just her second career start, Saga Gaga finished best, half a length clear at the line in the hands of Jamie Powell.
O’Callaghan has more juveniles running at Royal Ascot this week. Recent debut winner The Harv contests the Coventry Stakes on the first day with Celeron in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes on Wednesday.

Georginas Jet made most of the running in the 2m2f handicap hurdle at Downpatrick on Sunday to spring something of a surprise as the 20-1 shot scored by a commanding margin.
The five-year-old mare was winning for the first time in 14 starts for Athenry trainer Paul Gilligan. She fairly bolted up, too, by 10 lengths with Listowel jockey Gavin Brouder in the saddle.
When asked by the stewards to explain the improved form, Gilligan stated that the step back in trip, the better ground and his yard returning to form, may have brought about the better display.
